DUCHESS COCKTAILS STARTED WITH A LOVE FOR COSMOPOLITANS

The stylish 90s martini was a go-to for our founder, who sought out New York's best Cosmos on a trip to Manhattan in June 2019.

“After sipping Cosmos at iconic spots like Bemelman’s at the Carlyle and King Cole Bar at the St. Regis, I was on a flight home from New York thinking that a Cosmo would be great, and too bad they don’t serve those on flights. I thought, ‘someone should bottle cosmopolitans.’ Maybe it could be me…

WE'RE NAMED AFTER DUCHESS THE COCKER SPANIEL

Coupe Beverages Corporation (a name inspired by a love of vintage coupe glasses) was soon created as a home for our temporarily nameless bottled Cosmopolitan brand. It wasn't until mid-2020 that Duchess kindly lent her name.

With reliable production hard to find, we built our first factory in 2022 in East Vancouver. Demand outpaced that first space, and in 2025 we moved into a former door factory just a few blocks away. Our new home has already seen the launch of new Duchess flavours, the brand new 5% Duchess Spritz collection, and many more! 

Through it all, Coupe Beverages remains a 100% woman-owned, independent, and family operated producer in Canada. Our cocktails maintain a unique perspective; beautiful quality, never too sweet, and always stylish.

FOUNDER & CEO, OLIVIA LOVENMARK-HAY

Olivia loves creating beautiful products and memorable experiences — two things that Duchess brings together. Her go-to drinks are still a Cosmopolitan, and a Vesper martini.

Prior to Duchess, Olivia was a product and content marketer working with California and New York-based finance and tech startups. She attended Kwantlen Polytechnic University and the British Columbia Institute of Technology and holds her Canadian securities designation (CSC) – but it was blogging that gave her her start in 2009.
